POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to index mail to direct it to the correct examiner/branch. This position requires job duties such as use of multiple computer applications to determine the claim number or office location for the electronic mail related to workers’ compensation and property casualty claims. Mail is extremely time-sensitive therefore the goal is to have all mail received that day delivered to the appropriate location; therefore reliability and promptness is mandatory for this position. To ensure quality and timely work product completion, will work closely with supervisor. This is a part time position, requiring 5 days Monday through Friday. Typically 28 hours per week, depending upon volume. Located in San Diego
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may perform some or all of the duties listed below: • Completion of daily production log.* • Determines appropriate claim number for electronic correspondence.* • Distributes mail to claims branch electronically* • Researches misdirected mail, redirecting to appropriate party/office.* • All other duties as assigned. * Essential job function.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED, college experience, and six (6) months experience in the Workers’ Compensation or Liability claims industry preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Goal oriented Great work ethic Proficient keyboarding skills (type 45 wpm). Working knowledge of medical/legal forms and terminology. Ability to follow written and spoken instructions. Ability to produce accurate and detailed work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and due dates. Ability to work independently, as well as in cooperation with workgroup. Ability to Squat, Bend, and Lift a minimum of 30 lbs
