  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Under general supervision, assists the Support Services Supervisor by directing the activities of the File/Mail Clerical Staff ensuring high-quality work performance in compliance with state laws and company procedures.

    Responsibilities

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Assists in the Development and implementation procedures to increase group efficiency.*
    • Trains file/mail clerical staff.*
    • Assists the Supervisor with the incoming and outgoing mail, couriers and messenger services.*
    • Oversees daily productivity of file/mail clerical staff. *
    • Oversees daily file pull requests, file backs, and drop mail. *
    • Oversees and distributes office faxes. *
    • Provides back-up in maintaining and updating the Independent Medical Examiner (IME) Roster & Stats.*
    • Releases payments, cycles and credits returned or voided checks*
    • Provides back-up as the main point in contact with outside vendors for office equipment issues.*
    • Regular communication with Support Services Supervisor & Management as needed. *
    • Other duties as assigned*

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:     

     

    Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred), and three (3) years clerical experience within the workers’ compensation industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of medical/legal terminology.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to train staff.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Ability to direct a multi-level staff, providing clear, concise directions.
    • Aptitude for accurate, detailed work and meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide constructive feedback to staff to boost quality and quantity of work product.

     

    Other Qualifications

    • Certifications and/or licenses as required by State regulation.
